FAQs

Will I be automatically enrolled in Medicare when I turn 65?

How do I sign up for Original Medicare?

  • The first step to sign up online is to create an account (social security).  The next step is to apply online (apply for medicare).  You can do this starting 3 months before your benefits are supposed to begin.  You could also call the social security administration.

How do I sign up for a Medicare Supplement plan?

  • Call us.  Text us.  Email us.  We can provide you rates and help complete an application.

How do I get Medicare Advantage or Part D?

  • Call us.  Text us.  Email us.  We can provide you multiple options and get you enrolled.

Does it cost me anything to work with an insurance agent?

  • Not at all, and you are not charged any increased premium.  The insurance company you select will compensate your agent.

Do I need to sign back up every year?

  • Medicare Supplement policies are guaranteed renewable for life, so you never have to sign back up!
  • Medicare Advantage and Part D plans are annual contracts that could renew or choose not to renew in future years.  Either way by October they let you know what their plans are for the following year and you have an annual enrollment period to make changes if you want or need to sign up for a new plan.

What about these ads on TV where everything is free?

  • They will say anything to get you to pick up the phone!  Plans “may” do this or that, but they “may” not!  We want to show you the actual benefits for plans in your area.  Most areas have a $0 premium plan available but that’s not the same as free.

Can I enroll in a Medicare Supplement plan if I have a Medicare Advantage plan?

  • No you cannot.  Medicare Supplements are designed to fill in the gaps in Original Medicare, not Medicare Advantage plans.
